We bought the Series III Alpine Sports Tourer in 1983 as a cheap runabout. About 1992 I got serious about restoring it, stripped it, had it beadblasted. It had very little rust (being a Canberra car all its life) but some poorly repaired panel damage - the panel beater made a new doorskin and rear 'guard rather than try to fix what was there. As well as complete respray the car has been fully rebuilt mechanically: Engine, gearbox, starter, generator, radiator, brakes etc etc. Of course, the hardtop comes off, making it a great car for a sunny autumn/spring day or a warm summer evening!
Do you know why it's called a Husky Sports?
